Copy and paste

I cannot let this blog be a copy and paste blog (for a majority of the time...), so please pardon me for the blog-lag.

Back to normal, I swear!

Ad Savvy: Don't Just Like

Don't just like.

LIKE is watered-down love.
Like is mediocre.
Like is the wishy-washy emotion of the content.
Athletes don't do it for like the like of art.
There is no I Like N.Y. t-shirt.
And Romeo didn't just like Juliet.

LOVE. Now that's powerful stuff.
Love changes things.
Upsetes things.
Conquers things.
Love is at the root of everything good that
has ever happened, and will ever happen.
LOVE what you do.

--Blackberry Ad.

I saw this ad in 2009 (odd saying that, right?) in the Metro newspaper and loved it straight away. I still have that paper actually (9th November 2009).

On to the next one

Jay-Z retired back in 2003 after the release of The Black Album.

Kingdom Come. 2006.
Jay-Z was worse off when he came back in 2006. 'Kingdom Come'? Whatever "it" is that Jay-Z had wasn't there anymore. Everyone was in uproar not only at his false retirement but also the mediocrity of Kingdom Come.
I didn't understand where "it" had gone.

American Gangster. 2007.
I saw glimpses of Jay-Z's "it" factor coming back and still relevant in songs like Blue Magic and Ignorant Sh*t.

The Blueprint 3. 2009.
As soon as I saw the tracklisting I was worried. I am a firm believer that an album shouldn't be full of features as I am buying the CD to hear the artist whose name is printed on that very same CD. To me TBP3 seems like a Jay-Z & Company CD. Ruins the whole thing for me... and just to prove a point I say that the best tracks on TBP3 are the ones where Jay-Z is flying solo. That being said he is shockingly awful on some tracks.

All in all, I think Jay-Z is progressively getting back to where he was, album by album. I can't wait for the next one... and with that? On to the next one.

Speak on it.

A Necessary Introduction...

Welcome to why alice ist: home of all things Alice.

This blog is me, it's mine, it's yours, it's ours.
It's my thoughts, discoveries, ideas, questions, resolutions and about my clothing line. In a nutshell: Wordwall, Ramblings, Beauty and all that glamour, music and the like.

The main gist of why alice ist it's the home of all things Alice mainly alice ist wunderbar.

Alice ist wunderbar is my clothing line (my interpretation of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll). It's a lot harder to explain in text but easy to explain so expect a video about that soon...

and with that, enjoy!
